Your home oral care habits are very important to your oral health. But there’s something else that’s just as important as dental cleanings. Routine dental checkups and cleanings prevent dental issues that can undermine your smile. If you need a trustworthy dentist for teeth cleaning services near me, we’ve got you covered at VanderLaan Family Dentistry in Byron Center, Michigan.
Here are some of the ways dental cleanings keep your smile in optimal health:
Dental cleanings are about protecting your teeth by preventing dental issues like cavities. Our teeth cleaning services target plaque and tartar buildup on your teeth, particularly in areas your toothbrush can’t reach. Plaque and tartar eat away at the enamel of your teeth to cause cavities. Dr. Matthew VanderLaan can reduce your risk of decay by keeping plaque and tartar to a minimum.
Plaque that gathers under your gums can cause a serious infection called periodontal disease. A comprehensive dental cleaning will eliminate bacteria around your gumline and keep your gum tissues strong and healthy. You need healthy gums to stabilize your teeth and maintain an attractive smile.
That stinky breath you can’t seem to get rid of, even after brushing your teeth, could be due to bacterial or tartar buildup in your mouth. Tartar is hardened plaque that can only be removed by your dentist. A dental cleaning will cleanse your mouth of bacteria and tartar to leave your breath smelling fresh and clean.
If your teeth are looking dull and dingy, it’s time for a cleaning! Dr. VanderLaan will remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains caused by stain-causing foods and drinks. Afterward, we’ll polish your teeth to give them a smooth, shiny appearance. Routine cleanings can restore your smile’s sparkle and gleam.
With every appointment for cleaning, Dr. VanderLaan will examine your teeth to ensure they’re healthy. Regular dental checkups allow us to catch problems early and intervene quickly to keep them from becoming major issues later. This saves you the expense of long, invasive treatments to restore your oral health.
Routine checkups and cleanings contribute to the long-term health of your smile. With few or no dental issues, your teeth and gums will stay healthier and stronger over the long haul. Healthy teeth and gums contribute to a beautiful smile!
Dental cleanings help prevent serious dental problems like periodontal disease that can lead to early tooth loss. Seeing Dr. VanderLaan and our team every six months for checkups and cleanings could help you keep your teeth for life!
