If you’re unhappy with your smile, you’re in good company. Many people have aspects of their smile they’d like to change. Maybe your teeth are dull and dingy or worn from wear and tear. Or perhaps you have a misshapen, uneven, chipped tooth that draws undue attention to mar your smile’s beauty. At VanderLaan Family Dentistry in Byron Center, Michigan, we recommend getting teeth veneers to resolve issues with dental imperfections that make you cringe. Veneers will sparkle your smile, boosting your confidence in every situation.
One of the most significant benefits of veneer treatment is its simplicity. These thin, porcelain shells are custom-made in a lab from dental impressions of your teeth. They’re designed to match your natural teeth in color, size, shape, and texture for a seamless appearance. Then they’re bonded to your teeth permanently to give your smile gorgeous esthetics. Veneers work by keeping tooth flaws hidden to give your smile a smooth, bright, flawless appearance.
Here are just a few of the many benefits you stand to gain with veneers:
Veneers can address multiple imperfections in your smile in a single dental procedure. They can cover chipped, cracked, and worn teeth, making stains and discolorations disappear. Veneers can improve the size or shape of misshapen or irregularly sized teeth so your smile looks more symmetrical and balanced. Veneers can even make slightly crooked teeth appear straight and even.
Porcelain veneers are known for their gorgeous esthetics that closely resemble the color and sheen of natural teeth. Your new smile will reflect that beauty. You don’t have to worry that your smile will look phoney or unappealing.
Veneers are placed over your existing teeth after removing a thin layer of enamel to accommodate them. In some cases, very minimal alterations are made to your tooth structure to receive veneers.
With good oral care, porcelain veneers can last a very long time, up to 10+ years. To care for your veneers, maintain good oral hygiene to minimize plaque buildup. You should also see your dentist periodically for dental cleanings. Although veneers are stain-resistant, it’s advisable to be mindful of your diet to maintain a bright and healthy smile in the long run.
Porcelain veneers can strengthen chipped or worn teeth to prevent future damage. They’re also highly functional for biting and chewing. You can eat normally with veneers without worrying about damaging your restoration or tooth. It’s essential to avoid certain foods, such as hard and sticky items, as they can harm your teeth and compromise your veneers.
