The older you get, the greater the impact of wear and tear on your teeth. Your once pearly whites may appear dull, dark, and dingy. Fortunately, this can be remedied relatively easily with teeth whitening dental treatment. Dr. Matthew VanderLaan from VanderLaan Family Dentistry can restore your smile’s luster in as little as one dental visit. These FAQS, compiled by your Byron Center, Michigan dentist, explain more about the ZOOM teeth whitening process and what to expect from teeth whitening treatment.
Yes! You’ll love the beautiful results from this treatment! You can benefit from ZOOM teeth whitening treatment if your teeth are stained or discolored by age, wear and tear, smoking, or stain-causing foods or drinks. Our professional grade whitening gels lift stains and discolorations from your teeth to give them a whiter, brighter appearance.
ZOOM in-office tooth whitening treatment can give you a glamorous smile in one dental visit. ZOOM whitening gels contain a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth. Dr. VanderLaan will apply the gel to your teeth and activate it with a ZOOM laser light for stain removal. This process is repeated twice or thrice at 15-minute intervals until all stains and discolorations disappear and your pearly whites are sparkling again.
Some people have experienced slight sensitivity after whitening their teeth. These symptoms are temporary and fade entirely after a few days. We recommend avoiding hot and cold foods and drinks during this stage to avoid discomfort after teeth whitening. Please let us know if you experience significant tooth sensitivity on a daily basis! This may alter the course of treatment.
Working with an experienced dentist like Dr. VanderLaan is critical to safe and productive tooth whitening treatment. We’ll take measures to protect your teeth and gums and help you obtain optimal results from your treatment.
Temporary tooth or gum sensitivity is the significant side effect of this treatment. Before your procedure, Dr. VanderLaan will review your medical and oral health history to confirm you’re a good candidate for treatment. We’ll also personalize your whitening procedure to avoid excessive use of whitening gel that can cause tooth sensitivity. Tailoring the whitening process to your needs helps achieve desired results with fewer side effects.
That depends on how well you care for your teeth after your treatment. With good oral hygiene, regular dental cleanings, and occasional touch-ups, you can enjoy the beautiful results of a whiter, brighter smile for years. Maintaining good lifestyle habits and dietary choices will help keep your smile looking its best for longer.
